Addison Mizner built the whole color palette
Boca Raton is the northern end of my service area and it has a look entirely its own. Addison Mizner brought the same Mediterranean Revival idea he used in Palm Beach, and the pink stucco, barrel tile and arched loggias are still everywhere.
It photographs warm. Even on an overcast afternoon the buildings hold color, which means a session here rarely feels flat the way a gray day at the beach can.

Boca Raton, spot by spot
Mizner Park
The amphitheatre, the colonnades and that specific pink. Straightforward to work with, and open to the public.
Red Reef Park and the Boca Inlet
Dune crossovers, sea grape, and boats running out through the cut. The inlet gives you movement in the background without any crowd.
Old Floresta
A 1920s Mizner-designed neighborhood with mature trees and quiet streets. Residential, so we keep it brief and respectful.
Spanish River Park
Sea grape tunnels on one side, open lawn on the other. Genuinely useful in one stop.
The Boca Raton Resort
Mizner’s Cloister and the tower. Private property, so this only works with the right arrangement in place.
Forty five minutes north, and no travel fee Boca Raton sits at the top of the area I cover. Travel throughout Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach is included, so a Palm Beach County session costs you nothing extra.
What it does cost is daylight. I build the drive into the timing plan rather than pretending it does not exist, which usually means starting earlier than a Miami session on the same date.
