1. The 20-Minute Window
While other parts of the world enjoy a lingering sunset, Miami’s Golden Hour is famously brief. Because we are at sea level, once the sun hits the horizon, the “glow” lasts roughly 20 to 30 minutes.
To maximize this, we coordinate our session to ensure your most iconic look—the one with the cathedral-length veil or the high- fashion silhouette—is perfectly timed for that final burst of amber light.
2. Location & The “Glow”
The light behaves differently depending on where we are in the city:
The Atlantic Coast: At the beach, we get a soft, pastel-hued light. The reflection off the water acts as a natural “reflector,”
filling in shadows and making your skin look luminous.
The Urban Interior: In the Miami Design District or Coral Gables, the sun ducks behind the architecture earlier. Here, we look for “rim light”—that golden halo effect that separates you from the modern backdrops.
3. The Forgotten “Blue Hour”
Many brides think the session ends when the sun disappears.
However, the 15 minutes after sunset—known as the Blue Hour—is where the true editorial magic happens. The sky turns a deep, cinematic indigo, and the city lights begin to twinkle. This is the perfect time for high-contrast, moody portraits that feel like a still from a classic film.
